Islamabad, Oct 16: Belarus Invests in Pakistan’s Agriculture Sector
At the ZTBL Head Office in Islamabad, the President/CEO was visited by a high-ranking group from the Republic of Belarus.
Among the delegation were Vadim Shagoiko, Belarus’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, Ilya Kanapliou, Trade Counselor at the Belarusian Embassy in Pakistan, and Sergei Stolyarchuk, Chairman of the Bank of Development of Belarus.
The Belarusian side suggested that ZTBL and Belarus work together in areas of shared interest. To encourage mechanization and productivity in Pakistan’s agriculture industry, they proposed that ZTBL’s farmers profit from Belarusian agricultural equipment.
Additionally, they indicated a strong desire to participate in several Pakistani projects, for which ZTBL would get a comprehensive proposal.
The Belarusian team gave thorough explanations of the country’s agriculture industry, which is essential to its economy, during the discussion. Belarus’s foreign exchange profits are mostly derived from the export of cattle and agricultural products.
They emphasized Belarus’s prowess in the growth of livestock, heavy machinery manufacturing, and agricultural mechanization. A significant portion of Belarus’s global trade is derived from its agricultural exports, which include dairy and meat products.
The country is also known for its sophisticated farming techniques and state-of-the-art tractor and agricultural equipment manufacturing.
The ZTBL President/CEO gave a talk about the agriculture industry in Pakistan and the vital role ZTBL plays in aiding small and subsistence farmers. He gave the Prime Minister Kissan Package’s latest Rs. 33 billion agriloans to small and subsistence farmers from ZTBL, with over Rs. 10 billion going toward farm mechanization.
The President/CEO of ZTBL emphasized the company’s strategic position in terms of reaching out to underserved and rural areas nationwide through more than 500 branches, supported by a committed group of Branch Managers and Mobile Credit Officers, to provide financial and advisory services directly to farmers. He underlined that international alliances and cooperation are essential for both parties’ interests and the welfare of the populace.
