Islamabad, Oct 15: Chief Minister Punjab Orders Report on Illegal Housing Societies. The Director-General (DG) of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been given a 15-day deadline by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to submit a thorough report on unlawful housing societies in Lahore.

This directive was given at a high-level gathering in Lahore to talk about infrastructure and development initiatives for the city. The potential of outright prohibiting the sale of plot files in all Illegal Housing Societies was considered by the attendees during the conference.

The Chief Minister called on all relevant departments to work together on this effort and underlined the necessity of more stringent restrictions. In addition, Maryam Nawaz addressed the issue of Lahore’s declining road conditions, giving departments instructions to complete a plan for fixing potholes and cracks throughout the city’s road system.

The 8.2-kilometer-long Lahore Shop and Drop Tramway project was also presented to the Chief Minister. Important locations including Kalma Chowk, Main Boulevard, Hussain Chowk, M.M. Alam Road, and Mini Market will all be connected by the tramway. Five trams will run concurrently as part of the initiative, which aims to reduce traffic congestion and offer effective public transportation. Each tram will stop at selected locations every two minutes.

A unique road project connecting Karim Block and the Motorway was also mentioned at the meeting. Because of its poor structural condition, officials also contemplated removing the ancient Data Nagar Flyover.

The conference was attended by notable individuals like as MPA Sania Ashiq, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bokhari, Vice Chairman of LDA Mian Margoob Ahmad, and Senator Pervez Rashid.
