Islamabad, Oct 12: Saudi Arabia Updates Visa Regulations for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims. For temporary employment visas in the Hajj and Umrah services industry, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has modified its requirements. The duration of the visa will now be 90 days, with the possibility to renew for a further 90 days.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this revision was authorized by the Saudi Cabinet with the intention of giving the private sector more flexibility and matching visa regulations with the needs of the labor market.
From Shaban 15 to the end of Muharram, or roughly from February 14 to July 25, the newly called “temporary work visa for Pilgrims services” will be accessible. Additionally, the revised regulations make it simpler for businesses who operate during the Umrah season to gain entrance, allowing them to hire temporary workers more efficiently.
The government has tightened governance and established precise deadlines for visa applications in an effort to increase openness. Before a visa is issued, a signed job contract and proof of requisite medical coverage are needed. Saudi embassies and consulates can handle these procedures.
To reduce abuse, the government has made infractions very punishable. Businesses that are discovered to be offering temporary work permits risk fines of up to 50,000 Saudi riyals as well as a five-year ban from offering services related to the Hajj and Umrah.
Both punishments may be enforced consecutively. After approved, these restrictions will take effect 180 days later, giving businesses ample time to comply and organize their operations in preparation for the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
