Islamabad, Oct 15: PM Meets Tajik Counterpart, Calls for Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Trade and Connectivity. In a bilateral meeting with his Tajik colleague Qohir Rasulzoda on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of tight bilateral cooperation to further solidify mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of shared interest.
The prime minister urged the development of bilateral connections in the fields of commerce, investment, energy, and regional connectivity during the meeting, which was place on the fringes of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting here.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that Tajikistan and Pakistan maintained strong ties of friendship and cooperation as sister nations and regional allies, while also expressing gratitude for Tajikistan’s active and constructive participation in the SCO CHG meeting.
He spoke warmly of his fruitful July visit to Dushanbe earlier this year and was pleased with the direction the two countries’ relationship was taking. As the SCO chair, Prime Minister Rasulzoda expressed his warmest congratulations to Pakistan for hosting the SCO CHG meeting. He expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for welcoming him and the SCO delegates with such warmth and courtesy.
The prime minister echoed Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon’s best wishes, agreeing that there was a lot of room to further collaboration between the two nations and reaffirming Tajikistan’s commitment to working with Pakistan.
The Tajik prime minister also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif and the Pakistani government for permitting sugar exports to Tajikistan, which would strengthen the two nations’ bilateral trade.
Prime Minister Shehbaz later posted on his X timeline that he was delighted to see his Tajik counterpart and that both nations were committed to furthering their mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
