Islamabad, Oct 19: Aqib Javed Resigns as Lahore Qalandars Head Coach

Aqib Javed, a former cricket player from Pakistan, has left the Lahore Qalandars following an eight-year fruitful partnership with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team.

Prior to taking over national responsibilities with the Pakistan Cricket team, the former international for Pakistan will depart from the team.

As Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach for Lahore Qalandars for eight years, Aqib Javed led the side to three straight PSL finals from 2020 to 2023. His team went on to win two PSL competitions in a row.

The Player Development Program (PDP), which he founded and led, helped Lahore Qalandars acquire players like Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Salman Irshad, Dilbar Hussain, Maaz Khan, and Mirza Tahir Baig. This was his primary contribution to the team.

In retrospect, he remarked, “It’s been an incredible journey filled with unforgettable moments” regarding his time spent with the Lahore Qalandars. I’m eager to tackle new tasks with the national team going forward.
