Islamabad, Oct 19: Virat Kohli 9000 Test Runs: Joins Elite Club as Slowest Indian to Achieve Milestone

In the rain-affected third innings of India’s first Test match against New Zealand in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli reached yet another significant milestone in his remarkable career.

On day three, the 35-year-old displayed his batting prowess once more, leading the team’s comeback from a record-low score in the first innings. After Glenn Phillips removed Kohli on the final delivery of the day, India reached 231/3, 125 runs behind New Zealand.

Virat Kohli 9000 Test Runs with his courageous knock, joined the ranks of legendary Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar as the fourth batter from India to reach the 9000-run mark in Test cricket. However, he achieved this feat the slowest, taking 197 innings to do so.

Rain is again interfering with play; as of this writing, India is 344/3 on Day 4, behind the visiting Kiwis by just 12 runs.
